Your First Visit to Our Lee's Summit Practice

You will be warmly welcomed and made to feel at home. Help is on its way!

When you first enter our clinic you can expect a warm smile and friendly greeting from a member of our staff.  To ensure exceptional diagnosis and care, you need to plan on spending about one hour for your first visit.  To insure your first visit is a pleasant one, the following procedures are performed.

Of course, there will be some paperwork to fill out which will help us attain some information about you and your spinal health.  And, if there is any insurance you would like us to check on, this is the time to give us that information.

We welcome and serve patients of all ages... infants to seniors, families and individuals. If the patient is a minor, please see that a parent or guardian is present, at least for the first visit.

Consultation

Once you have finished your paperwork, the staff will give you a tour of our office and explain the services we offer.  You'll meet the doctor who will review your health history and discuss your condition to determine if chiropractic care may be of benefit to you.  If the doctor feels your condition would be better served by another physician, he will recommend you see a doctor specializing in your particular health needs.  If together you and the doctor decide that this is the right place for you, the examination process begins.

Examination

The doctor is very thorough in the examination, which is designed for your specific condition. The examination could include testing your range of motion as well as other standard orthopedic, neurologic, postural, and physical examinations. From this, the doctor will gain valuable information and a better understanding of how chiropractic can help you.

X-rays

X-rays are sometimes required to get a full evaluation of your condition.  The need for x-rays is considered on a case by case basis.  However, if needed, our office has an on-site, state of the art x-ray facility for your convenience.

Correlation

Following your examination, you will be scheduled for a report of the doctor’s findings.  The doctor will go over the results from your examination as well as to review any x-rays that may have been taken.  Because your health, or lack of health, doesn’t affect just you, we will often suggest that you bring a friend, or significant other with you for your report of findings.  Plan to spend 30-45 minutes on your next visit to receive the doctor's report of findings and recommended chiropractic care.

Dr. Arthur Asks some important questions of interest to Lees Summit residents - Chiropractor Lees Summit Dr. Arthur Asks...

What's the difference between sick care and health care?
Sick care is largely about relieving or suppressing symptoms. Health care is about improving performance. While sick care is about how you feel, health care is about how you function. Sick care is what you do to treat an obvious problem, and health care is what you do to avoid the problem and advance your well-being.
How could chiropractic help a stomach problem?
Chiropractic works by locating and reducing areas of the spine compromising nerve communications between your brain and your body. If nerves to or from your stomach are irritated, your stomach won't work right. Chiropractors find the source of the interference, reduce it and allow your body to work as designed.
