Introducing Lee's Summit Chiropractor Dr. Arthur Turner
“I thought the injury to my lower back would keep me from participating in sports for the rest of my life,” recalls Dr. Art Turner. “But fortunately my parents were aware of the benefits of chiropractic care and I began care immediately after my injury with excellent results.”
“My high school sports injury resulted in severe lower back pain which radiated down my leg. The chiropractor was able to evaluate the injury, and relieve the pain so I was back to my sport within a week. I continued to see the chiropractor at least once a month because I found I felt better and my back was stronger when the chiropractor kept the bones in my spine working properly.”
“During four years in the military without any chiropractic treatments I returned home with a weak back and constant pain. I returned to the chiropractor and realized that being able to help others live without pain and to improve their health, fitness and quality of life was what I wanted to do as a career.”
Dr. Turner attended Cleveland Chiropractic College in Kansas City, Missouri. During his four years at Cleveland, courses included biochemistry, anatomy, human physiology, x-ray, diagnosis, chiropractic adjusting techniques and patient care in the Cleveland College Public Clinic. After graduating in 1975 Dr. Turner decided to establish his practice in Lee’s Summit.
“Thirty years of working with patients of all ages has been a rewarding career,” stated Dr. Turner. “I still remember the distress and anxiety I had when I hurt my back. I thought it could disable me for the rest of my life. So we make it a point to give patients pain relief as quickly as possible and then we work with them to strengthen the injured areas so they can live and function without pain.”
Dr. Turner has been married to Pat his “beautiful red head” for 32 years. They have two adult children and one grand-daughter. We believe the entire family should receive chiropractic care. Chiropractic isn’t just for people who have a back or neck injury. We have found that those who receive regular chiropractic treatment have fewer injuries and illness because their body functions better when the spine and musculoskeletal system are working correctly.
“My approach to maintaining my health, fitness and quality of life consists of weekly chiropractic care, whole foods, vitamin supplementation, and a consistent exercise workout at least three times a week. These are key components that assist in keeping a positive mental attitude and fighting the demands of my day. We teach these same principles to our patients. Patients appreciate knowing how they can insure their own optimal health and well being.”
